Where Breath Collides

Where Breath Collides, Patrick Joosten constructs a field where energy does not explode it accumulates.

Broad luminous passages are interrupted by dense gestures and fractured marks, creating a shifting balance between expansion and resistance. The painting never settles into opposition; instead, each movement transforms the one before it.

Breath becomes more than rhythm. It becomes pressure, release, and continual renewal. Every mark seems suspended between appearance and disappearance, leaving the composition in a permanent state of becoming.

Rather than offering resolution, the work invites the viewer to inhabit uncertainty, where perception remains fluid and every silence carries as much weight as every gesture.
