In Spectral, Patrick Joosten explores the shifting boundary between matter and light, between form and energy. Against a patchwork-like background, a rhythmic mosaic of soft earthy hues creates an organic weave, evoking the stratification of the world.
Above this textured base rise powerful layers of blue, yellow, and white. These colors do not overlap: they emerge, burst forth, and traverse the canvas like luminous spectra.
Joosten’s abstraction is not devoid of emotion. It invites the contemplation of an unstable space, where colors seem to be in perpetual mutation, like visual echoes of a world in motion. Spectral is a work that questions inner movements, the hidden vibrations of the world and the soul, in a controlled abstraction that is open to interpretation.
